The University of Toronto chapter of Stars for Scholarly Youth bridges the gap of educational and extracurricular opportunities for underserved Grades 5 - 12 youth in the Greater Toronto Area.

1-ON-1 TUTORING

Tutoring Session

Are you a university student and want to volunteer? Gain leadership experience and make a difference!

Have a hard time understanding some classes? Can't afford a private tutor? We offer free 1-on-1 tutoring with a University student! 
 

This services is for the following Grade 5 - 12 students: financial need - unable to afford otherwise, Is currently/ recently been in a social intervention - including but not limited to shelters and foster homes, Indigenousrural, newcomers, and more!

English Language Literacy (ELL) Connect

Kids Doing Homework

Are you a university student and want to volunteer? Help support newcomers and other ESL learners! You work 1-on-1 with the program director to support the student.

Do you need extra English language-speaking support? ELL is an activity/ mentorship program aimed at improving the literacy of newcomer, immigrant and refugee youth.

We pair you with a tutor who works 1-on-1 with you over 6 weeks to develop an individualized plan and meet with you regularly to help you improve your literacy.
